There is no getting away from the fact that you will have to buy some new clothes and you’re only going to wear them for a few months. Make sure new purchases work hard for you, pregnant or not you need to consider your cost per wear, so buy wisely. Take the time to plan your capsule wardrobe, consider all the different ways you can wear your new items.
- Accessories – These are a great and inexpensive way to make a look your own or add a splash of colour to an outfit. They can also be worn after you have your baby.
- Layers – use layers to create interest, keep them lightweight and again buy wisely, there is no need to buy specific maternity cardigans etc, choose a lightweight draping cardigan that you can wear after your baby is born.
- Length – Pregnancy is not the time to show a bare midriff and avoid showing the elastic at the top of your trousers, jeans or skirts.
- Underwear – Get measured regularly; ensure you have enough support this will help protect your bust from sagging in the future.
